The time has come to take action!

Far too often we sit and talk about what should be done and who should make it happen. Unfortunately, this is as far as the action goes. We need to stand behind our words and help this community thrive. Public events, gatherings and volunteer time are all ways to make a difference. These things will have a far bigger impact than sitting in a living room complaining about lack of change.

  1. Just wanted to take this opportunity to remind everybody about the final "Movie in the Park". It will be shown Saturday, September 12th at the gazeebo. It starts around 8pm and the movie being shown is "Twilight".

  2. Yes, it is time for us to enjoy the uniqueness of our community. North Bonneville offers the opportunity for us all to become actively engaged in the positive, welcoming activities of our town. I appreciate this valuable service started by Abigail. Welcome aboard with your positive energy and ideas. When challenges arise regarding our community, we have a responsibility to communicate with our leaders and neighbors. Thank you! Mary Armantrout

  5. Amidst all the challenges we have regarding cost containment and rising costs for all of our services, we all need to appreciate the staff and leadership as they investigate all possibilities. When it comes down to rising costs, we can not do without these services. Have you ever imagined being without water and being with sewage? Mary Armantrout

  6. We need to invite others to the two Blogs available for North Bonneville citizens. Both have excellent information, and need our input. I encourage people to use their real names when contributing. Thank you. Mary Armantrout

  7. The opportunity to thank our former Police Chief and Fire Chief meant many people enjoyed the pleasure of visiting with our friends and neighbors as well as thanking these two leaders who gave service to our town. Mary Armantrout

  8. Keeping up with both Blogs may seem challenging, but both have interesting points of view. When complaints demand facts, I suggest relying on the information available at the City Hall. Mary Armantrout

  9. Let's work together to resolve the concerns of all citizens. Register a complaint in writing. As these complaints stack up, the appropriate personnel can deal with the facts rather than innuendo. Do know, however, the staff cannot put in overtime for these complaints. The mayor and council may need to seek additional information because they represent all of us. With our varied opinions, and the need for officials to prioritize complaints, many issues will go unresolved. To check on your personal complaint, attend the city council meeting and provide information during the public concerns time period. Thank you. Mary Armantrout

  10. You need to give us a call...you are using a picture of our property and we want this picture removed from this blog site.

  11. Wow, Abigail, for someone who professes to be trying to promote an open & honest exchange & decries negativity, you sure seem to be using a lot of divisive language on this blog. Calling those with whom you disagree "Borg" & claiming to represent those who think for themselves, & thereby insinuating those who think differently are somehow incapable of thought, is hardly a sincere invitation to others to share their opinions. I will continue to read & participate in both blogs, but I hope the only dissent comes from the posters, not the moderators.

  12. Mr. Stevens, I never said that I disagree with "the borg". I simply want people to think for themselves rather than taking everything they hear at face value. It all comes down to both sides of a story. Those that think for themsleves are the same as those who think differently. I make no claim in representing anyone. I merely run this site.

  13. Fair enough, Abigail, I will take you at your word & continue to frequent both blogs to improve my understanding of what's important to my fellow residents. We all have our own views & the sharing of those views with one another is a vital part of understanding each other & finding common ground.
I like the new background colors too, the contrasting colors make it much easier to read things. Thanks.

  14. When stress comes into our lives, we do feel put upon by others. The danger in that is we begin to fear our neighbors and friends and lose trust. Our only cure for that is to listen carefully for what helps our community. Thank you for reading my messages. Mary Armantrout

  15. Well said, Mary, thanks.

One thing I find helps me relieve stress & also contributes to our community is to pick up litter whenever I see it. When my wife & I walk, run or ride on our paved paths, our "off-road" paths, the disc golf course & all our other green spaces, we pick up lots of litter. We feel this action not only contributes to the beauty of our community but also takes a little of the pressure off our city's public work crew.

I encourage me fellow residents to take pride in, & ownership of, our community by treating our public spaces as if they were our own yards & keeping them clean.
